Bud Vase #11

A lovely sensuously shaped bud vase which makes the most of the interplay between the white Mussel Shoals glaze and the dark chocolate colour of the clay body.  A small but perfectly formed piece.  Please be aware that there are few bare patches on the inside ot the neck of this vase.  These will not effect the use of the piece as a vase and as they are on the inside, they do not detract from the look of the piece.

It’s glazed in Mussel Shoals, a beautiful semi-gloss white glaze with cream/translucent flecks.  These flecks are what gives the glaze it’s name as they are made by incorporating locally collected mussel shells, ground up and mixed into the glaze formula that I developed from scratch.  I know it sounds silly, but the glaze has a very textural ‘softness’ to it which I just adore and I hope you do too.
