Wheel Throwing Taster Sessions
There is nothing like making something with your own hands, and even more so, turning a shapeless lump of clay into something useful, beautiful and permanent.
We will soon be offering wheel throwing taster sessions right here in the shop, on two of the actual wheels that were used in the Great Pottery Throwdown!

What to expect
- 2-3 hour session in the relaxed and beautiful setting of my High Street shop in Neston.
- Welcome drinks and biscuits – with frequent top-ups throughout the session!
- Only 2 students per session, so sessions are relaxed, personal, and the help you need is sitting directly opposite you – no waiting 20 mins while the tutor is helping someone 6 wheels down the row!
- Step by step guided instruction on each step of the throwing process – demonstrated by me first before you have a go yourselves.
- Supportive, relaxed atmosphere, where you can take your time and really ‘get’ the process at your pace – it’s pottery after all, it’s meant to be mindful, not a stressful experience.
- The option to have the work you make glazed and fired with one of my own hand crafted glazes (small additional cost).
- Sessions will most likely run on a weekday evening – yet to be determined
- Cost will be £70 with an additional £10 glazing/firing charge for each piece you want to keep.
